My Community Visit with Magic Bus
On Christmas Eve of 2021, I traveled to the slums of Mumbai. Here I was able to meet a group of underprivileged girls living in the slums of Mumbai, who are also part of the Magic Bus sports team. While visiting these girls, I donated a Christmas snack and a months worth of nutritious meals for the girls and their families. I also played soccer with them and got to visit their families. This mission was made possible from the money earned by sale of my cookbook, Recipes from the Heart of India. I plan to continue supporting the sports team in the future.
About Magic Bus
India has the largest population of young people in the world today. However, the majority of these youth are left without resources to achieve socio-economic success. Magic Bus enables children to complete secondary education, empowering them with life skills like teamwork, problem-solving, communication, thus setting them up for success to follow their dreams and to earn a good livelihood.
